One Sun a Blue Moon
#HeyFrancis | Get it? "One Sun (Once In)" a Blue Moon. First of all, I would like to sincerely THANK Mr. Mark Addy of www.maximumexposurephotography.net because, if not for him, this post would not be possible. This past weekend I made my first-ever trip to Washington State and Idaho to celebrate my one (1) year anniversary from leaving Indiana. While waiting for takeoff at LAX, it dawned on me that I had forgotten my only camera battery at home on the charger; I felt like a doofus! After landing in Spokane, my friend and I crossed the boarder into Idaho and checked around at every camera store in Coeur d'Alene for a replacement battery. Unfortunately, every store was out of stock and had the battery on backorder.
At this point I thought that all was lost. I took a few moments to reflect on our current situation and had finally come to grips with it. In a sigh of disappointment we headed towards the exit, and heard a call from Mr. Addy. He said, "I have an extra battery you can use, would you like to borrow it?" A rush of excitement came over me as I expressed my appreciation for his kind gesture. After picking up the battery I was able to capture some truly beautiful moments that I'll never forget.
This composite moonrise and sunset photo was taken on Saturday, August 1, 2015 (a Blue Moon) before and after, respectively, a grueling hike to Crystal Lake in northern Idaho. I learned today that if there are two (2) full moons in a calendar month, the second is known as a "Blue Moon". Please share if you enjoy what you see. Thanks again for checking out the #HeyFrancis blog!
