A Sweet Collaboration - @cataltomonte
#HeyFrancis | Just what the doctor ordered - a little something sweet to start off the week right. Today, I linked up with the talented Miss @cataltomonte (baking 👩🏽🍳 extraordinaire) for a freestyle #foodstyling session featuring her first-time Banana 🍌 muffin recipe. But if you're looking to cut back on the sweetness, you can always ixnay 🙅🏽♂️ the coconut cream caramel drizzle - but who would want to do that, right?
Learned and had a lot of fun working with new lighting setups and direction when it came to food. We played around with some backlit setups but ended up opting for a more traditional setup with one (1) key light set at 45 degrees from the muffins. Adding a 32"x32" inch softbox in front of that light, we were able to create some really soft shadows and add the glistening catchlight in the drizzle. Here's what we used:
Camera: Canon 5D Mark III
Lens: Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM II
Flash: Yongnuo 600EX-RT II
Tripod: Amazon Basics 52" Carbon Fiber Tripod
Softbox: Neweer 32"x32" Speedlite Softbox
ISO: 200
Aperture: f/5.0
Shutter Speed: 1/8 second
Food photography can be super easy and lot of fun - especially when you get to eat the food after you photograph it. Now it's your turn!
